Permission sought for exploratory fracking work in Nottinghamshire
4 August 2015
An energy company has applied for permission to explore the potential for fracking in north Nottinghamshire.
IGas Limited want to drill 12 bore holes on land in Misson, close to the boundary with South Yorkshire.
This followed an application to Nottinghamshire County Council for permission to start exploratory shale gas drilling at the same site which was submitted in May.
The boreholes would be used to determine existing groundwater conditions.
Last month, Lancashire County Council refused permission for two fracking sites on the Fylde Coast, where company Cuadrilla was hoping to drill four wells.
